History
Yahya H. Mirza started his first venture Creative Engineering Technologies in 1991 upon leaving the Battelle Memorial Institute Research Labs in Columbus, Ohio. Creative Engineering Technologies worked on projects with companies including Spatial Technologies and Microsoft Corporation. From 1996 to 1999, Yahya H. Mirza was a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Smalltalk Research Group. In 1999, upon returning to the Pacific Northwest, Creative Engineering Technologies changed itŐs name to Aurora Borealis Software. In 2003 Aurora Borealis Software LLC was officially incorporated as a Washington State Limited Liability Company.

Aurora Borealis Software LLC provides services to support the complete software development lifecycle including: software architecture, detailed design, coding, testing and documentation. Additional services include: organizing and delivering research and training events, applied software research and development, as well as marketing and advertising utilizing advanced multimedia and computer animation technologies.
Aurora Borealis Software LLC has proven expertise in compiler and system software technologies. Tutorials on system software (compiler, virtual machines, and runtime system) technologies have been taught by Aurora Borealis Software LLC personnel at major international software research conferences. Original research on component frameworks has been conducted, resulting in published papers. Finally, Aurora Borealis Software LLC has been the organizer of a well received workshop series on virtual machine infrastructure technologies. Aurora Borealis Software LLC is currently working on parallel programming and compiler technologies for multi-processor, multi-core processor architectures and GPUs to support high end computer animation production and games.
